Marriage Encounter Weekend Oct. 20-22

Last weekend was a busy one! It all started at 9am Friday morning. We loaded a large flatbed truck with all the supplies needed to host a marriage encounter weekend. Once we arrived at the retreat site, the support group began setting up tables, preparing the participants' rooms, and arranging the main meeting room. The participants began to arrive around 7pm, nineteen couples total. Saturday and Sunday, the support group ran around behind the scenes setting up the main meeting room, cleaning the participants' bathrooms, and leaving suprises in their rooms. Meanwhile, the participants were listening to testimonial couples and spending time alone together working on their marriages. At mealtimes, there were at least 8 couples involved in serving. The servers were volunteers who had attended Marriage Encounter in the past. We had a chance to serve a few times as fill-ins. Overall, this was an incredible weekend! It was hard work, but an opportunity to learn about the inner workings of Marriage Encounter. It was a blessing to serve together in this way. Thank you for your prayers for this weekend. Continue to pray for the 19 couples who participated, that their marriages will be strengthened and that they may come to know the Lord through this ministry. Love you & God Bless, Amanda & John

A little hard to see, but this is a timeline of the weekend. It is an hour-by-hour schedule of each event and task that needed to be done. We highlighted each event that was accomplished. Posted by Picasa

God bless you both for your service to Marriage Encounter. Continue to serve where you have the opportunity.
