Our new brother Camilo
This past sunday we were extremely blessed to witness the rebirth of Camilo, a university student and part of the group at church. Camilo's conversion process began nearly 3 years ago when he began attending church with a group of friends. At the time he was politely up-front that he was only there because his friends were, and had no interest in studying the Bible, basically agnostic in his beliefs. Several months later he decided he was willing to begin an evangelistic Bible study, and over the course of roughly two years has studied the Bible in search of the truth. Camilo has also spent lots of time with missionary Jeff Hatcher, who is very well-educated in apologetics and has a scientific background which Camilo could identify with.

Camilo's baptism was an incredible moment, one many of us had been in prayer for for quite some time, and watching those prayers anwsered by Camilo confessing Jesus as his Lord and Savior, and being baptized was beyond what I am capable of conveying with words. Camilo has a huge servant heart which was evident even before he began studying, he is usually first to help out with whatever needs to be done. I would say he's one of the best friends I have here and I'm glad that we can call each other "hermano" (brother) when we greet each other. To God be the glory!
We'll be back with more updates soon, about what Sept. 11 means here in Chile, as well as the upcoming "Fiestas Patrias" or Independence Day celebrations on September 18.
Thanks for keeping up with us, and keeping us in your prayers.
john
