Church Retreat--Rosario, Chile
This past weekend we had a church retreat in the small town of Rosario, about a 1-1/2 hour drive south. The name of the retreat site is "Casa Colonial." There were about 60 adults, plus children, which was smaller that expected, but it was a great group of people. The theme was "Rest in the Lord." Each church member received a notebook and a guided meditation book with the schedule of the weekend. Everyone was divided up into small groups, and John and I were each asked to be leaders of 2 of the eight groups. I had 5 university and high school ladies, and John had 6 guys with varying ages. Each time we met with our small groups, we read the focus Bible verse for the meditation session and began the meditation using our books. The meditation consisted of some reading, reflexion, and a lot of writing. There was some time also for sharing and prayer within the small group. We also met together as a church for singing and for the lesson for that meditation session. I was impressed by the great attitudes of everyone who helped prepare meals, wash dishes, and watch the kids. The organizers assigned duties on a rotation basis, so just about everyone had a chance to serve. Of course, there was free time in the afternoons, so Saturday and Sunday, there were soccer games going on. Saturday night we had a talent show & later a bonfire! We had a great time this weekend! Enjoy the pictures below!
A view of the retreat site. Each room had several bunk beds & a bathroom. There were lots of beautiful flowers in the garden!

In the group meeting place, getting ready to sing and start the day.
