More in March: My Mom & Some GREAT news!!
Hi there--Amanda here.
Another great thing that happened in March was a visit from my mom. She spent a little more than a week with us, going to Bible studies with us and attending the church anniversary service. We saw a few tourist sites too. Also, she was here to help us get our apartment organized as we are finishing up our time in Chile. She brought a whole extra suitcase for us to fill with the stuff we want to send back to the USA. Mom and I had time to visit and talk about the work in Santiago as well as our upcoming move to the USA and all of the emotions I am feeling. (That's another blog post by itself.) It was a blessing to have her here!! Enjoy the photos!! The GREAT news is below too!!!
John and Mom at the entrance to the Central Market. There is a lot of fresh seafood!
Mom with Claudia Soto and Ryan Newhouse (they're engaged to be married July 14th)
Claudia Valenzuela, Perla, and me in a study. Perla and I have been studying with Claudia for a couple of months.
Charlene, me and mom at church.
Me and John with Charlene and Laurindo, the Brazilian couple we have been studying with.
The GREAT news: This coming Sunday, April 15th, Claudia Valenzuela, Charlene, and Laurindo will all be baptized!!! We have been praying for each of them and their decisions to put on Christ in baptism. Charlene has wanted to be baptized ever since we studied about it in January, however Laurindo had not felt the need to be immersed as he had been "baptized" as an infant. After several months of fervent prayer on his behalf, he came up to us this past Sunday and shared with us that he had changed his mind and realized that he needs to be immersed as well. Praise the Lord for the changes He makes in each of our hearts!! We are so thankful that we can witness their baptism and commitment to the Lord together. Please pray for Claudia, Charlene, and Laurindo (their pictures are above) this weekend as they start their new lives. Thank you for your faithful prayers on their behalf and for the work in Santiago.
With Love, Amanda Mann
